Krimp are the Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble equivalent of Donkey Kong Country's Klaptraps and Donkey Kong Country 2's Klampons. They are fully vulnerable on the back side and on the top (despite their menacing look), but if hit from the front, they will reconcile with a swift bite.
