Giant Spider

Smite[1] (alternatively known as Giant Spider[2] or Spider in the official BradyGames guide[3]) is a giant one-eyed spider mini-boss in the area Fungi Forest in Donkey Kong 64. The spider is fought by Tiny Kong. It attacks by sending smaller spiders toward Tiny and also by shooting webbing that either temporarily reverses the game's controls or freezes Tiny. Tiny can damage Smite by hitting its open eye with her feather bow. After being hit multiple times, Smite will fall to the ground, shrink into a Small Spider and try to charge into Tiny, though it can be defeated like a normal Small Spider. After Smite is defeated, a Golden Banana will appear before Tiny.

Trivia
- Although the creature is a spider, it has only six legs.
- The attacks Smite uses, as well as Smite's general appearance, can be based on the Donkey Kong Country 3 boss, Arich.
- When Smite spits webs at Tiny, it has no way of knowing where she is, as it is asleep.
- The poison slimes effect is similar with King K. Rool's gas from his blunderbuss in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
