Kackles are ghostly Kremlings from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest that chase after Diddy and Dixie Kong in the level "Haunted Hall". A Kackle will start chasing the Kongs as soon as they enter it's territory.

Once you pass the first gate of "Haunted Hall", a Kackle will be found already waiting for the Kongs, a timer will appear when the Kongs enter this Kackles territory. The Kongs will have to pass another gate in order to leave this Kackle's territory and if you fail to do that in the time limit, the Kackle will attack and a life will be lost. Plus and Minus Barrels will alter the time limit.

There are a total of four areas in the level where Kackles appears in, two before the checkpoint and two after the checkpoint.

Trivia

  • According to the game's credits, Kackles belong to the "Kremling Kuthroats" enemy class.
  • In the GameBoy Advance remake of Donkey Kong Country 2, all Kackles in the game wear the same bandana color, red. In the Super Nintendo version of the game the Kackles wear either a blue, green, yellow or red bandana.
  • In Donkey Kong 64 a skeletal Kremling, conjecturally named Resident Demon appears. The Resident Demon is somewhat similar in appearance to a Kackle.
