During the second week of the Wild West Tour, the Super Mario Kart Tour, and the 1st Anniversary Tour, event tokens appeared in all courses in a tour, where they replaced several of the normal coins in a random manner. They could also be obtained from Item Boxes instead of normal coins, from other drivers who have gotten hit, and from the Coin Box special item. During the second week of the Pirate Tour, they could be earned from landing hits with shells. During the second week of the Summer Festival Tour, they could be earned from landing hits with Bob-ombs.
