He is Skurvy's first-mate, and he speaks with a distinctive Italian accent. Kutlass is voiced by John Stocker, the same person who voices Toad in the Mario cartoons.

Despite Kutlass being Kaptain Skurvy's number one minion, he does not appear as much as his captain on the show. In the episodes Kutlass does appear in, he is making plans to steal the Crystal Coconut with Skurvy and his shipmate Green Kroc.

- Despite sharing his name with a species of Kremling from the game, Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, Kutlass looks little like this type of Kremling at all. Instead, Kutlass resembles King K. Rool, but with a lighter scale tone.
- Occasionally, his voice gets switched with Green Kroc's due to internal errors.
