Hoofer (known as Mooshin in Japan and the European GameCube version) is a large black wildebeest with yellow hair, red eyes and hooves and a light-brown mouth. He is one of Donkey Kong's Jungle Buddies in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, where he is featured in the ice levels.

Hoofer's abilities are similar to Rambi from Donkey Kong Country, as he can smash through enemies and barriers with ease. However, Hoofer runs constantly while Donkey Kong rides him.
