Appearance
Archies resemble navy blue-colored pudgy penguins with slightly bulging round eyes, skimming the end of a thick beak. They bear puffy wristbands fastened with leather shreds on their flippers, and display hair knots on top of their heads. They are slightly hunched and normally appear to hold on their own, hence their predatory attitude and tensioned position during movement.
Archies walk back and forth, keeping their look focused on the Kongs. After a short while, they start shooting three consecutive fish from their quiver, using their bows as if they were shooting arrows. When in mid-air, the fish travel in a straight line and at a constant speed, destroying themselves once they crash into a wall or reach a certain distance. The Kongs lose a heart from their health bar if hit by these fish projectiles. However, they can be stomped on and, occasionally, used to traverse pits or spiked floor. Archies themselves can be defeated by any attack method (e.g. stomping, roll attacks, tossed barrels).

Behavior and combat
Archy fish projectiles redeem the role of Squidlys from Donkey Kong Country Returns as slender, arrowy, and horizontally positioned enemies that are shot by a malicious creature.
Archies attack by shooting their long and pointy fish using their bows, in the manner of one shooting arrows. They project three such fish in a row before walking back and forth, keeping their look focused in the direction they are currently facing. When in mid-air, the fish travel in a straight line and at a constant velocity, despawning into clouds of dust whenever they crash into a wall. The Kongs lose a heart from their health bar, had the fish projectiles pounce them. These, however, can be stomped on and, occasionally, used as objects of traversal above pits and spiked floor. Upon getting stomped, the fish projectiles disappear; so do the armed penguins after undergoing the same move from the primate heroes. In effect, Archies can be defeated by any attack method (e.g. roll attacks, tossed barrels).

Archies (fire), a red variety of Archies, also exist, which use fishbones engulfed in flames instead of carnal fish.

Other members of the Snowmad army share the same name as Archies. They also bear the same costumation, attitude, behavior, and weaponry, but display a red coloration. Instead of shooting carnal fish, they use fishbones engulfed in flames, which cannot be stomped on.

Archies are enemies appearing in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. They are penguin soldiers of the Snowmad army, each equipped with a bow and carrying a quiver full of fish on their back. Much like their Tucks relatives, they are stout and display navy-blue coloration. They also bear puffy wristbands fastened with leather shreds on their flippers, as well as hair knots on top of their heads.

Archy fish projectiles redeem the role of Squidlys from Donkey Kong Country Returns as slender, arrowy, and horizontally positioned enemies that are shot by a malicious creature.

Archies (fire), a red variety of Archies, also exist, which use fishbones engulfed in flames instead of carnal fish.
