'''Thunder Roc''' is a boss in ''[[Donkey Kong Jungle Beat]]'' that ruled the [[Lychee Kingdom]]. Deriving from the [[Roc]] species, it is a creature supposed to represent the birds of the "real world". Just like its counterparts, this feathered creature flies around the field whilst it holds onto an egg. This egg is also the player's only way to defeat the boss. This boss has a noticeably darker, more threatening look to it compared to its previous lookalikes. This is likely to be because it is the last one of its species faced by ''Donkey Kong'' in said game.

==Attacks==
Thunder Roc's appearance consists of gray feathers, purple and yellow wings, a red neck and head, and orange claws on its feet. It uses these claws to hold onto a black egg. Thunder Roc is the most powerful member of the Roc species.

*It can shoot out feathers to spike ''Donkey Kong''.
*It can send a plethora of meteors raining down on the battlefield.
*It can also send a burst of wind at Donkey Kong's way preventing him to move in its direction.


==Strategy==
Thunder Roc's attacks consist of shooting feathers at DK, sending wind toward him, firing three Shadow Meteors, and sending a shadow-like creature to attack him. When reaching beneath 300 HP, Thunder Roc will gain the ability to shoot many more feathers at Donkey Kong, as well as firing a gigantic Shadow Meteor. It will also move faster as it takes more damage.
The general strategy for this boss is to wall jump on either side of the battlefield and get Donkey Kong to somersault into ''Thunder Roc'''s black egg. Once the egg has been damaged, the boss will start to get weak in which case ''Donkey Kong'' will be able to get a whole of the boss' egg and start scratching it down in which will cause the boss some great damage. Eventually, Donkey Kong will let go of the egg and drop down.


As Thunder Roc starts getting weaker he will spin upwards in anger, causing his feathers to spread across the field (not threatening Donkey Kong, however.)
Thunder Roc can only be attacked by dazing it, accomplished by striking any part of it, including the egg, and then headbutting the egg numerous times. When defeated, the egg will shatter, and Thunder Roc will explode.


Once it is defeated, the black egg will explode causing the feathered creature itself to explode shortly afterward.

==Trivia==
*Despite Donkey Kong having no claws, the Black Egg can be seen getting scratched by the ape, with red marks left behind.
*Even though the black egg isn't directly connected to Thunder Roc's body, its body is seen exploding after the explosion of its black egg. It is possible the reasoning for this is that the first explosion (caused by the black egg) is the one that caused the bird to explode shortly afterward.

Thunder Roc is the fourth member of the Roc species and ruler of the Lychee Kingdom in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat.
