Snide the Weasel.

Snide is a weasel and former member of the Kremling Krew before he was kicked out just prior to the events of Donkey Kong 64.

Snide was once King K. Rool's chief technician, responsible for the creation of the Blast-O-Matic and presumebly other machines the Kremlings have used over the years. After Snide completed construction of the Blast-O-Matic, K. Rool began to become increasingly convinced that Snide was going to betray him. At the height of this paranoia K. Rool confiscated Snide's work and expulsed him from the Kremling Krew.

After this expulsion Snide ended up moving to Donkey Kong Island were he set up a headquarters called Snide's HQ.

Snide aided Donkey Kong and his Kong pals in their adventure to defeat K. Rool by collecting the Blueprints they obtained from the soldier Kremlings called Kasplats. For every Blueprint the Kongs gave Snide he would reward them with a Golden Banana (in an increasingly bizzare way); also the number of Blueprints the Kongs give Snide equals the amount of time they have to shut down the Blast-O-Matic, so giving Snide all fifty Blueprints would give the Kongs fifty minutes to shut down the diabolical weapon.

Also if the Kongs give Snide all fifty Blueprints they will be able to play Donkey Kong 64's various mini-games at his headquarters.

It is unknown whatever happened to Snide after the Kongs defeated King Krusha K. Rool.

Trivia

  • It is never explained where Snide obtained all the Golden Bananas he awards the Kongs, nor is it explained how giving him the Blast-O-Matic's Blueprints would delay the weapon's activation.
  • Several other members of Snide's species (anthropomorphic weasels) appear in the game Conker's Bad Fur Day and it's remake, Conker: Live and Reloaded.
