Monocle Monicas resemble {{wp|Dragonfly|dragonflies}}, given their horizontal wings and overall physical constitution, which looks like a caricatured dragonfly's body due to their swelled thoraxes, short abdomens and tiny legs. They wear a monocle worn on their left eye, hence their name, and have a beak. Monocle Monicas have a grumpy and concentrated look.

As shown in their concept artwork, Monocle Monicas were originally depicted with small insect mandibles instead of beaks. Nevertheless, their {{wp|Shades of yellow#Mellow yellow|mellow yellow}} color remained consistent.

The general behavior of Monocle Monicas involves flying in set paths unlike that of [[Hootz]]. Monocle Monicas use a dragonfly-type characteristic to fly, as they hover in a single position in midair while rapidly swinging their wings before quickly shifting into another position. Monocle Monicas may vary in their flying patterns: some fly between two positions, other between three in a row, while others follow rectangular trajectories. If the Kongs are on a vine and a Monocle Monica flies upwards and directly into them, the Monocle Monica gets defeated.

Monocle Monicas[1] are dragonfly-like enemies in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. They wear a monocle on their left eye, hence their name. They only appear in Lost Mangroves levels, often around grass-covered walls or vines.

Monocle Monica
An in-game Monocle Monica

Monocle Monicas fly around on set paths. To move, they quickly shift between positions in mid-air: some fly between two positions, other between three in a line, and several follow a rectangular pattern. Monocle Monicas can damage a Kong upon contact, but the Kongs can defeat them using any attack method. If the Kongs are on a vine and a Monocle Monica flies upwards into them, it counts as being stomped on and defeated.

Monocle Monicas have bird-like beaks in-game, while in concept artwork, they are depicted with insect mandibles.
