'''Blue Hootz''' are common enemies in ''[[Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze]]''. They look like small, blue owl creatures that wear livid-colored viking helmets with tiny horns. Due to the structure of the helmet, whose margins are descending towards their downward-facing beaks, Blue Hootz always seem to have angry expressions. Their body structure is rather simplistic, being egg-shaped and having two small wings on each side. Unlike the [[Hot Hootz]], which they share traits with, Blue Hootz are always engulfed by dangerous blue flames that never go out unless the enemy is defeated.

Blue Hootzes are common enemies in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port and a derived enemy from Hot Hootzes. They resemble squat blue owls, and they wear viking helmets with tiny horns. The margins of their helmets slope downward to their beaks, creating the illusion of a frowning expression.

Unlike Hot Hootzes, Blue Hootzes permanently expel ice[1] out of their bodies. They either remain stationary in the air or fly around in a set pattern. Blue Hootzes are most often featured in flocks consisting of two or more. Since they are permanently covered in a frosty aura, Blue Hootzes are difficult to defeat, being harmful and impervious to even Cranky Kong's Cane Bounce or Rambi. The Kongs can only defeat a Blue Hootz by throwing a barrel or another projectile at it, or by using Kong POW within range.

Blue Hootzes act similarly to Flaming Tiki Buzzes from Donkey Kong Country Returns.
