Blue Finleys are light-blue colored lazy swimmers which might be found either solitary or in small schools that dominate the waters. They are approximately the size of [[Donkey Kong]], and their shape is almost rectangular. They display underbites enclosed by thick lips, which partially hide two small and sharp tusks that could remind one of the evildoing capabilities of Blue Finleys. Not only this, but their eyes denote angriness or restlessness. They also sport pointy, light-colored fins all over their bodies. It is worth mentioning that half of a Blue Finley's body represents the large head, which goes on into a rather small structure after the hermetically-sealed gills.
Blue Finleys can be found solitary or in groups. They swim around in a variety of patterns, as shown in [[Deep Keep]], without trying to target the [[Kong]]s. If the Kongs swim into a Blue Finley, it bites them and takes away a [[Heart (item)#Donkey Kong franchise|Heart]]. Blue Finleys that swim up and down only use their long caudal fins to propel themselves, while their pectoral fins only have the role to indicate the direction they are going in. On the other hand, Blue Finleys use all of these fins as propellers when swimming from left to right.
In [[Rocket Rails]], Blue Finleys demonstrate the ability to swim in midair. The playable [[Kong]] can defeat a Blue Finley by [[stomp]]ing on it. As stated before, different individuals might follow different patterns when swimming: some Blue Finleys follow straight lines, which can be either vertical or horizontal, while other members of this species might follow cirular paths, as seen in [[Deep Keep]], a level from [[Sea Breeze Cove]]. They are potentially dangerous for the [[Kong]]s, as a normal interference with them is enough for losing a life. Blue Finleys bite the Kongs when they get touched. There is only one time in the game when Blue Finleys can be found outside the water; that is, [[Rocket Rails]]. Here, they merely float in midair, representing not only obstacles for the [[Cart|minecart]] driving player, but also as platform improvisations he or she can [[stomp]] on to proceed. Indeed, a single stomp can defeat an aerian Blue Finley.

Blue Finleys have red-colored relatives called [[Red Finley]]s, which travel faster underwater. Blue Finleys[1] are light-blue fish enemies and members of the Finley family in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and its Nintendo Switch port. They appear in many levels, usually those that primarily occur underwater or at seaside. Blue Finleys first appear in the first level, Mangrove Cove, as the very first enemy encountered by Donkey Kong on his adventure.

Description[edit]

Blue Finleys can be found solitary or in groups. They swim around in a variety of patterns, as shown in Deep Keep, without trying to target the Kongs. If the Kongs swim into a Blue Finley, it bites them and takes away a Heart. A Blue Finley can be defeated by either the Corkscrew move or a cane attack by Cranky Kong.

In Rocket Rails, Blue Finleys demonstrate the ability to swim in midair. The playable Kong can defeat a Blue Finley by stomping on it. Blue Finleys may also serve as improvised platforms to get across wide chasms; one of the level's Puzzle Pieces can be collected only by jumping on a Blue Finley.
