(nintendo never actually owned the rights to conker, not even when rare was one of their second-parties. the only franchises that nintendo shared rights with rareware were banjo, killer instinct, goldeneye007 and blast corps (donkey kong is fully owned by nintendo), while conker, diddy kong racing, perfect dark and jet force gemini were fully owned by rare, with nintendo only distributing these games, not directly publishing them.) Conker is the protagonist of the Conker series of games developed by Rare. He is a friend of Diddy Kong, and, like Banjo, he made his debut appearance in Diddy Kong Racing. Also like Banjo, he would later appear in a series of his own games.
