Red Wharf

Red Wharf is the first level in the game Donkey Kong Land III. Located in the south of Cape Codswallop, it takes place on a series of boardwalks overhanging a large body of water (probably a sea since the following level is called "Seabed Shanty"). The wharf got its name from the red hue of the wood it is made of. This level is the Donkey Kong Land 3 equivalent of Lakeside Limbo, and both feature Sneeks and Kobbles. Although "Red Wharf" mostly takes place on the docks, the Kongs can also swim in the shallow water to find extra bananas and a Bonus Barrel. The Koin is located at the very end of the level, and can only be reached with Barrel Cannons.

Trivia

• The sixth level in Blackforest Plateau is called Redwood Rampage, and as its name implies, takes place in a forest with red-colored trees. "Red Wharf" may have been built with wood from that area, though this is purely conjectural.
• The name of this level is a pun on the well-know Science-fiction comedy show Red Dwarf.
