This article is about the recurring platform in the Super Mario series. For the blocks also known as bridges, see Road.

Bridges are a kind of Semisolid Platform in the Super Mario games. They first appear in Super Mario Bros.

History

Super Mario Bros.

The first level in which bridges appear in Super Mario Bros. is World 2-3. In this level, Cheep Cheeps jump out of thin air underneath the bridges in the level. Only one later appears in World 3-1, with three Goombas on top of it. They reappear in World 7-3, which features a layout similar to World 2-3's.

Super Mario World

Bridges in Butter Bridge 2

Bridges return in Super Mario World, where they first appear in Butter Bridge 1. They reappear in Butter Bridge 2, appearing in most of the level.

New Super Mario Bros.

Bridges appear again in New Super Mario Bros. It first appears in World 1-2, appearing only twice in the beginning of the level. It then appears in World 1-Tower, appearing almost everywhere in the level. It also appears in World 1-4, World 2-1, and World 2-3, as well as the rest of the tower levels.

New Super Mario Bros. 2
