Template:Infobox Diddy Kong Pilot was a planned sequel to Diddy Kong Racing, but with flying as the only means of transport. However, it ended up being cancelled. After its cancellation and after Rare was sold to Microsoft, Diddy Kong Pilot was converted into the game Banjo-Pilot in 2005. Characters confirmed to appear in the game were Krunch, Dixie Kong, Diddy Kong, Donkey Kong, King K. Rool, Cranky Kong and a character tentatively called "Redneck Kong". [1] There is a screenshot showing a rocket boost in it which revealed that rocket boosts were probably going to be an item in the game. This game was also going to use the tilt sensor[2]

It is unknown if all the characters featured in Diddy Kong Racing would return in Diddy Kong Pilot. Diddy Kong Pilot would have been Rare's first game on the Game Boy Advance if it had not been cancelled. It is also unknown if Nintendo and Rare were later to start working on a game called Donkey Kong Pilot, as there was also a game called Donkey Kong Racing which was cancelled.
