Mount Wario
Mount Wario is the fourth and final race track in the Star Cup of Mario Kart 8. This course takes place on a huge mountain owned by Wario, where players must drive from the top to the bottom (similar to DK Summit in Mario Kart Wii and DK Mountain in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!). This is the only new course in Mario Kart 8 to be divided into three sections instead of three laps.
Course layout
The course is a three section race down a snowy mountain, split between three sections (like Wuhu Loop, Maka Wuhu, and Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 7 and the remake of Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64 in Mario Kart 8). It starts off in a large helicopter placed at the top of the mountain, with the racers driving out of it before landing onto the path. After a few downhill turns, the second portion of the track enters an icy cave, with two anti-gravity sections ending with a hang-glider segment. Two icebergs with boost pads are placed just after, before a boost ramp leads the racers into the Wario Dam area. After two 90º turns, there is another anti-gravity section with racers driving along the side of the dam, with boost pads going down streams (like in Shy Guy Falls).
After that, racers soon enter a snowy forest, that splits into two paths to start off. These two paths meet up to an area with rocks sticking out of the snow, which can provide a boost via tricks. Soon enough, racers enter the third section, which starts going down a skiing area with cheering Toads, Yoshis, and Shy Guys along with a Jumbotron. After a few turns, racers enter the final anti-gravity section, which goes down a ski jumping ramp with boost pads placed on various parts of the ramp. The section ends with a hang-glider section, where three boost rings are placed to help racers out. After two more turns, the race ends in an area next to a large log cabin, where the finish line awaits them.
Shortcuts
- In the forest, one can cut in between the two paths to a hidden glider ramp by using a Mushroom.
- Just before the start of the second section, one can hit a small ramp and jump over a pit, cutting off the turn.

Trivia
- This is the second track in the Mario Kart series that does not end at the same place in which the race started, along with Maka Wuhu.
- Unlike Maka Wuhu, however, Mount Wario is the first track in the Mario Kart series that is not a loop.
- Due to this being the only course without being a full loop, the players actually turn around and stop their vehicles after finishing.
- Unlike Maka Wuhu, however, Mount Wario is the first track in the Mario Kart series that is not a loop.
- This is the fourth track in the Mario Kart series to include three separate portions of the track before the finish line, the first three being Wuhu Loop, Maka Wuhu, and the 3DS version of Rainbow Road.
- This is the first and only track to have separate soundtracks for each section instead of using the same soundtrack and speeding it up in the final lap.
- This is one of three courses to have an animation during the countdown, this being the helicopter door opening, the others being Bowser's Castle and Twisted Mansion.
- This is the first Wario-themed course to not have Wario as the staff ghost (the staff ghost for this course is Waluigi).
- After racers finish the race all the racers will drift to the side just like in actual skiing where to stop skiers dart their boards side ward making snow fling and stop the skier.
