The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Summit Invitational Tournament was a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe–related competition sponsored by Tencent in 2020. It consisted of two phases: an in-game qualifier (held July 18, 2020, detailed below) and an offline competition (held July 31, 2020 in Shanghai). The top four players in the qualifier would go on to participate in the offline competition against four other "mystery guests". The event was promoted on the Nintendo Switch account operated by Tencent on Bilibili.[1]
