The Kong Roll is a special move perform by Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong in Donkey Kong Country Returns. The move can only be execute when Diddy Kong is mounted on Donkey Kong's back. By utilizing the and , Donkey Kong begins by performing a barrel roll. As he rolls, Diddy run along on top of Donkey Kong to keep him progress. Like the barrel roll and cartwheel, the move can be use to cross over gaps, eliminate most enemies in the Kongs' path, and increase speed. But unlike those signature moves, the Kong Roll proceed as long as the player shakes the and the to move.
