Greninja is a Water/Dark-type Pokémon from the Pokémon series that evolves from a Frogadier at level 36. It is the final form of Froakie. It is a newcomer playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. It originates from Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Reflecting on its naturally high speed in these games, Greninja's attacks and movements in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U are agile.

Special moves

This article is under construction. Therefore, please excuse its informal appearance while it is being worked on. We hope to have it completed as soon as possible.

Water Shuriken

Main article: SmashWiki:Water Shuriken

Water Shuriken is one of Greninja's signature moves and is its neutral special attack in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. Greninja throws a shuriken of water directly ahead. The shuriken can be charged to have it grow, making it more powerful; at its most powerful, the shuriken can push opponents and deal multiple hits.

The first custom variation of this move is Stagnant Shuriken, in which Greninja fires a shuriken that stays in place to damage foes for multiple hits. The second variation is Shifting Shuriken, which has Greninja fire one of two types of Water Shuriken depending on whether the button is tapped or held; when the button is tapped, a smaller shuriken that travels a short distance is thrown, and when the button is held, a larger one that travels farther is thrown.

Shadow Sneak

Main article: SmashWiki:Shadow Sneak

Shadow Sneak is Greninja's side special move. Greninja slowly moves forward, projecting a moving shadow on the ground as long as the button is held. When the button is released, it warps to where the shadow is and attacks. If the player moves backward when using the attack, the shadow follows but does not retreat or advance.

The two custom variations of this move are Shadow Strike and Shadow Dash. When using Shadow Strike, it takes longer for Greninja to warp to the opponent and attack, but the attack is more powerful. When using Shadow Dash, Greninja automatically warps a set distance and attacks.

Hydro Pump

Main article: SmashWiki:Hydro Pump

Hydro Pump is Greninja's up special move. When used, Greninja launches itself into the air with a burst of water from its palms. Angling the control stick in any direction when using the move causes Greninja to launch itself in that direction after shooting up.

Substitute

Main article: SmashWiki:Substitute

Substitute is Greninja's down special move. Similar to any counter move, Greninja braces itself. When attacked, a substitute appears in its place, and it then immediately appears and counterattacks. The player can influence the direction of the counterattack by holding a direction on the control stick. The substitute itself can either be a log or the substitute doll from the main Pokémon games. The substitute remains on the battlefield afterward for a short time and can still be attacked.

Secret Ninja Attack

Main article: SmashWiki:Secret Ninja Attack

Secret Ninja Attack is Greninja's Final Smash. When used, Greninja pulls out a mat and kicks it, knocking any opponents he hits into the air and trapping them. It then starts to repeatedly attack the opponents before slamming them to the ground again.
