Gnawtys make a reappearance in the Nintendo 64 game Donkey Kong 64. Here they were commonly found in the area Jungle Japes and around Donkey Kong Island. Gnawtys are also, rarely found in the area Crystal Caves. These Gnawtys could be defeated by simply hitting them with any type of attack. Gnawtys served as the weakest, most easily defeated enemy of the game, and were featured in the K. Rool Arena in Jungle Japes, in "Beaver Brawl". Also, there's an unlockable game in which the player as Rambi the Rhinoceros has to beat as many Gnawtys as possible before the time limit. In this game, Gnawties could be found either light blue-colored or gold-colored. The latter awarded a total of 10 points. Each time a Gnawty was encountered, it would make a strange, beeping and repetitive sound.

Interestingly the Gnawtys of Donkey Kong 64 are much larger than the ones of Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land.

Gnawtys have yet to make a reappearance in any of the newer Donkey Kong games.

The Gnawtys seem to have somewhat of of an alliance with the Kremling Krew.

A Gnawty.

Gnawtys are lazy-eyed beavers who are considered by some to be the Goombas of the Donkey Kong Universe, though less common.

The first appearance of Gnawtys was in the game Donkey Kong Country. Here they are the games most common and weakest enemy. A Gnawty can be defeated by simply jumping on it's head, or by throwing a barrel at it or using an Animal Buddy. In a few levels of the game Gnawtys riding giant flying stone wheels will appear, these wheels will either chase Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong down or act as obstacles.

Donkey Kong Country also had two giant Gnawty bosses named Very Gnawty and Really Gnawty.

The next appearance of Gnawtys was in Donkey Kong Country's Game Boy sequel, Donkey Kong Land. Here Gnawtys were once again common enemies.

In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Donkey Kong Land 2 were replaced by the equally common and weak mice called Neeks. In Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble and Donkey Kong Land 3 Gnawtys were once again replaced, this time by rats called Sneeks.

A large, brown Gnawty, named Gnawty, appears in the game Banjo-Kazooie in the area Click Clock Woods. Banjo and Kazooie can help this Gnawty out by moving a boulder that is blocking the entrance to his dam.
