An arrow field on Tour New York Minute

Arrow fields are a course feature in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, introduced in the Booster Course Pass. They are holographic, scrolling chevron arrows that extend over the exits of junctions in the track. Attempting to drive past one will cause Lakitu to pick the player up, similarly to falling into a pit or going out-of-bounds. Arrow fields are distinct from simple physical barriers in that they are in different locations on each lap, changing the route of the course with each lap. Most courses have red arrow fields, but N64 Kalimari Desert's arrow fields are turquoise. Arrow fields appear the same size regardless of how far away a racer is from them.

Courses with arrow fields

All courses with arrow fields, except for DS Peach Gardens, are courses that had multiple routes in Mario Kart Tour.
