Ryu is a character from the Street Fighter series by Capcom who appeared in every Street Fighter title since the first game. He is a practitioner of a unique martial art skills known as Ansatsuken. He appears as the DLC character in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, marking him the first DLC character to be a newcomer. A stage based off his Street Fighter II stage has also been shown to be debuting in the Wii U title.
