Native Resolution Parameter[edit]

Should this template have an optional parameter about native resolution? The NES and SNES are 256x224, N64 is 320x240, Game Boy through Game Boy Color are 160x144, Game Boy Advance is 240x160, Nintendo DS is 256x192 for each screen (not sure about Nintendo DSi), and Nintendo 3DS is 400x240/320x240 for the top/bottom screen in 2D mode. The GCN, Wii, and Wii U are kind of tough because Dolphin Emulator says different for each game and the Wii U is supposedly 1920x1080 when using HDMI but I have seen screenshots here in 1280x720 for those Wii U games. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 18:13, 2 January 2016 (EST)

Don't different regions have different resolutions, at least for the SNES (example)? But overall, sounds like a good idea if the dimensions can be verified for the more recent console games; we'd just need to include multiple resolutions where applicable (as well as the older console(s), the 3DS would also need two), but that could just be done manually. But why "native resolution"? Why not just "screen resolution" and then people will probably figure out on their own that it means the proper resolutions and not emulated ones or whatever. - Walkazo 23:43, 2 January 2016 (EST)
I don't know about PAL region. I am only familiar with NTSC-U and a few NTSC-J games. Native resolution can aid us get the best, unstretched, un-upscaled, no loss in quality, no loss in detail, minimum screenshots possible, especially for the Nintendo Handhelds, NES, SNES, and Wii U Gamepad (854x480). There is no reason to have anything bigger than native for these cases. I have come across a lot of improperly stretched and scaled screenshots that just look terrible and end up costing more bandwidth and server space than they are worth compared to their 1x native counterparts. --Wildgoosespeeder (talk) 00:05, 3 January 2016 (EST)

CSS[edit]

In a CSS page (Gadget-GlobalStyle.css I believe) I think a light blue infobox should be defined so that only the odd-number rows are displayed powderblue. Results May Vary (talk) 18:28, October 16, 2021 (EDT)
