Mini-Necky
Mini-Neckys are small, black, hostile birds encountered throughout the Donkey Kong series. As the name suggests, they are miniature versions of Neckys. The first appearance of Mini-Neckys was in Donkey Kong Country. Here they would attack Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong by spitting coconuts/eggs at them.
Mini-Neckys next appeared in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, here they were semi-common enemies encountered in various of the game's levels. In this game Mini-Neckys would attack Diddy and Dixie Kong be swooping down at them, a Mini-Necky could be defeated by simply jumping on it's head. Unlike the ones from Donkey Kong Country, they wear red polka-dotted bandanas on their heads.
Donkey Kong Country 2 also introduces a giant Mini-Necky boss named Krow. Also in the Kong's battle with the ghost of Krow (Kreepy Krow) in Gloomy Gulch several ghostly Mini-Neckys would sometimes appear to attack the Kongs. During the battle against Kreepy Krow the Kongs would have to jump on a regular Mini-Necky to make a barrel appear, which they can hit Kreepy Krow with. Mini-Neckys, along with Krow next appeared in Donkey Kong Land 2, once again in this game Mini-Neckys were swooping antagonists, Krow was also a boss again.
Interestingly the Mini-Neckys of Donkey Kong Country 2 and Donkey Kong Land 2 wear what appear to be bandannas on their heads. After a long absence Mini-Neckys reappeared in DK: King of Swing. Once again they are fairly annoying enemies. Mini-Neckys appeared in the game DK Jungle Climber, where they either swoop at the Kongs or shoot coconuts. Mini-Neckys also appear inside green balloons as items in Donkey Kong Barrel Blast.
