To defeat this enormous bird, Donkey or Diddy must use the bouncy tire in the middle of the bird's banana lair to Jump up high and stomp Master Necky's head. After five hits, Master Necky collapses, and Donkey Kong recovers a Giant Banana. The player never gets to see Master Necky's whole body; only his head appears on the screen.
In the Game Boy Advance remake, Master Necky was bright red before and after he attacked. The Kongs can't damage him until he spat out a coconut, showing his normal color, but he'd turn red again as he left the screen. Master Necky also helps out Master Necky Snr. in his battle.
