Unlike the [[Car]]s and [[Plane]]s, the Hovercrafts are usable in every level except for some battle stages and boss tracks. They appear to be very powerful as they are able to hover across water and even [[lava]]. However, hovercrafts are considered to be the most difficult vehicle to control, due to their tricky steering capabilities. In the DS version, players racing in the Hovercraft must blow into the DS' microphone to initiate a [[Rocket Start]] at the beginning of a race. Hovercrafts are one of the three vehicles in Diddy Kong Racing and Diddy Kong Racing DS. Their main attribute is the ability to float across bodies of water, including lava.
