- “Bone Dragon hates a pounding headache as much as egg on his face.”
- —Message Block in the Bone Dragon Pit, Yoshi's Story
Bone Dragons are large hydra-like dragon skeletons that Yoshis encounter in the Bone Dragon Pit in Yoshi's Story. Bone Dragons usually block a Yoshi's way, and to get past one, the Yoshi has to either throw eggs at its head or ground-pound it, with either method taking two hits to defeat the Bone Dragon. Bone Dragons are not completely defenseless, however, as they can attack the Yoshis by occasionally spitting a fireball at them. In a couple of cases, a Yoshi encounters a three-headed Bone Dragon, complete with a body. Touching the body does not hurt the Yoshi. Each of the heads takes two hits, and defeating the Bone Dragon earns Yoshi three melons.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl has a sticker of a Bone Dragon that raises the strength of attacks that involve biting by thirteen. It can be used only by Yoshi, Wario, Pokémon Trainer, and Wolf.

Trivia[edit]
- In pre-release builds of Yoshi's Story, Bone Dragons were not skeletal; they were purple-and-orange-colored and multi-headed and had only two big teeth.
- A Bone Dragon-like creature makes a cameo in Snowflake Lake in Mario Party 6 and Pyramid Park in Mario Party 7. Both of these, however, have horns and more rectangular faces.
