The Banana Peel is Diddy Kong's down special move in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. The move causes Diddy Kong to toss a banana peel over his shoulder behind him. The banana peel then functions like the item, Banana Peel, in that any character to walk over it will slip and fall. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Diddy can toss two banana peels on the stage at once, but in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, he can only toss one. Diddy Kong can also pick up his banana peels off the ground and throw them at his opponents to make them slip.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, the move has two variants: Shocking Banana Peel and Battering Banana Peel. Shocking Banana Peel paralyzes opponents that step on it, and Battering Banana Peel causes Diddy Kong to throw the banana peel straight up, and any character that touches it launches them straight up.
