==Toy Field==
Toy field has returned from Mario SuperStar Baseball. Toy field has 1 Batter, and 3 other Outfielders. And a canon that pitches the ball to the batter. Before it pitches it, their is a roulette wheel that affects the turn. It has 3 different slots. Each slot is controlled by one of the outfielders; the tap a to stop the slot they are in control of. The slots do:
*The first one controls the speed of the ball. The Mushroom is slow, flower is regular, star is fast, and crown is the fastest. There is a ? space where you won't be told of the ball's speed.
*The second one shows where the ball go. It can curve left, right, or go straight. There is a ? space which does not tell you which it curves to.
*Items can be used on the outfielders, similar to how they can be used in the baseball game. There are items, a X Space, which does not give you an item.
When the batter gets strike 1, the will lose 15 coins, and the other players get 5. On Strike 2, they will lose another 15 and the other players will get another 5 coins. If they Strike out, they will lose 90 coins, and the outfielders gain 30 coins.
In the Japanese Version, game can be played 10 turns, 20 turns, or 30 turns. It is unknown if this will be different from the English Version.
When the ball is hit there are a few possible results:
*When the ball is hit on a number spot (there are several numbers; 30, 60, 90 and 150 and more), you will get coins equal to the number hit. It is possible for more than 1 spot to be hit.
*If the ball is caught on the flight, the outfielder who caught gains 60 coins, and the batter loses 60 coins.
*The ball hits one of the bumpers on the side. When this happens, the ball will go up into the air and may be easily caught. Sometimes Bonus coins will be awarded if the ball hits the bumper.
*There are 7 doors in the background that are the spaces in the furthest part of the field. There are 1-2 glowing doors there. When a Door that is not glowing is hit, a letter will flip around. If a glowing door is hit, there will be a letter appearing, but there is a "Jackpot". When the Jackpot space is hit, there will be a Jackpot, with the Jackpot at a large number of coins. There are 3 Minigames within the Jackpot, (It is unknown how they are selected), and whoever wins the jackpot gains the number of coins the Jackpot was at. The Fielders and batter have no difference playing those games.
**In one game, there is one where players must find coin cards, by aiming at the screen, putting there pointer on a letter, tapping A to select a card. whoever gets the most Coin cards win.
**There is a game with 4 boxes, a star in one of them. Each player picks a box, and whoever selects the box with the Star wins.
**A minigame where you have a certain number, and a few balloons. You must pop balloons to make the Exact number.
*Once all doors are flipped around, the letters will spell the word "Miracle" (It is MIRACLE in the Japanese Version and is HOMERUN in the English version.). The person who hits the last door required will get a lot of coins. (It is unknown how much).
*In front of the door, there is a Brick Wall. Above the Brick Wall is a Panel That says "Grand Slam". When a Grand Slam is hit, you will not only bat again but get 500 coins.
*You can get coins for hitting the wall.
*There is a mushroom bumper which will bump the ball if it is hit.
*If the ball goes to the left or right past the bumpers high enough, it will be a foul ball, counted as a strike. (You will not lose coins)
A new feature in Toy Field is the ability to tackle each other. When the ball is caught by a fielder, there will be a timer on top of the screen that starts at 3 seconds. When the ball is caught, the other 2 fielders can Tackle the fielder to steal the ball. When the 3-Second's is up, the fielder who has the ball will bat next.
Also, each character has a different tackle.  Power characters (Like Pety Piranha) will have a long tackle, coming in use for getting the ball. Fast characters (like [[Wiggler]] will have a short tackle making it difficult to tackle.
There is another new element in Toy Field. The name is unknown, but it will give bonus coins. Similar to the Bonus Star's elements in Mario Party, there is Bonus coins. At the end of a match, Bonus Coin's will be awarded. (Such as Bonus coin's for Tackling the most, Being tackled the most, Diving to get the ball the most, Hitting the ball perfectly, etc.). In a Japanese game play video, there was negative coins awarded (it is unknown why). It is unconfirmed whether this feature can be turned off in the options or it is there by default.
Every time a fielder is hit by a item, they will lose 30 coins and the batter gains 30  coins.

Mario Super Sluggers (Japanese: スーパーマリオスタジアム ファミリーベースボール Sūpā Mario Sutajiamu Familī Bēsobōru, Super Mario Stadium Family Baseball) is the sequel to Mario Superstar Baseball, released on the Wii console. The game was announced on October 9, 2007, at a Nintendo conference. It was released in Japan on June 19, 2008[1] and was expected in North America on August 25, 2008.[2]

Gameplay

Mario Super Sluggers can be played using three different control methods:

  • Wii Remote (vertical)
  • Wii Remote (horizontal)
  • Wii Remote + Nunchuk combo

In order to bat or pitch, the A button must be held and then the Wii Remote must be swung at the appropriate time. The more precise the hit/pitch, the further/faster the ball will go. To charge up a pitch or swing, the players must pull the Wii Remote back. They can also do curve balls as well by twisting the Wii Remote, while pitching. Once the ball is in a fielder's hand, the Remote must be swung so that the fielder can pitch the ball at one of the basemen.

In the outfield, players can create special moves if there is chemistry between outfielders:

  • Pass the ball to another outfielder slightly, and that outfielders pitch will be a very fast laser ball.
  • When a possible home run is hit, players can initiate a Buddy Jump. Upon jumping around another outfielder's head and pressing A, one of the players will jump incredibly high to catch home run balls. This must be done with precise timing.

Star Skills will reappear in Super Sluggers as well. Any player can pitch or bat using Star Skills, however only Team Captains can use special hits/pitches. Team Players can only use Star skills that will make the ball go faster or slower.

Stadiums

There are 9 stadiums (excluding Toy Field) in all. Every captain except Waluigi, Birdo, and Diddy Kong have a stadium which is based on their unique personas. Most of the 9 stadiums can be played in daytime or nighttime. Mario Stadium is the only stadium not to feature any gimmicks in the field, and Wario City is the only stadium that switches from day to night with no gimmick changes. Bowser Jr.'s Room is only accesible during the day, while Luigi's Mansion and Bowser's Castle can only be accessed at night.

Playable Characters

All of the characters from the last game will appear in Mario Super Sluggers, along with some other new appearances as well. It is now possible to put more than one of the same character on the team in Exhibition Mode, as long as they are different colors. Players are given the choice to play as their Miis as well, who's stats are all 5/10. Player's can't choose to have a whole team of 9 Mii's, but they can put 1 captain and up to 8 other Mii's.

Team Players

It should be noted that not all Team Players listed below are available from the start. In most cases, the only way for the player to add them to the game's overall roster is to play the Challenge Mode and find the Team Players in question. Then the player must pass the said missions prior to unlocking them for use in other modes.

Chemistry

Like Mario Superstar Baseball, the characters will have good and bad relations with any other character. However, the characters will can make special abilities with another character when they show good Chemistry. The player can receive items with chemistry. If the player is a slugger and the next to the other player shares chemistry with the player, this will result in geting an item.

Items

There will be items in Mario Super Sluggers, much like to Mario Strikers Charged. However, only a few items have been confirmed as of now.

  • Green Shell - Shoot a player and daze them if hit.
  • Fire Ball - Some fireballs will bounce around to burn someone.
  • Boos - Make the ball invisible.
  • Bob-omb - Throw one and the player loses the ball and is hurt.
  • POW-Ball - Similar to the Bob-omb. It will shake the ground instead of making an explosion.
  • Banana Peel - Shoot 3-6 bananas to trip the player.
  • Bullet Bill - Follows the player chosen and blows up on him/her.

Challenge Mode

Challenge Mode will reappear in Mario Super Sluggers. This one, unlike Mario Superstar Baseball, features a more in-depth story and overall map screen. A few obstacles were seen, like a puzzle to get to the next part of the path. Not much else is known for now. In a recent trailer, a star pointer (similar to Super Mario Galaxy) was seen in the challenge mode.Template:Refneeded

Additionally, the story for the game's Challenge Mode includes a total of four videos for the player to encounter (including the game's overall opening). Details for them can be found here.
