Snowmads are the main antagonists in the game Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. They consist of stereotyped Viking-themed arctic animals, such as seals, walruses, and owls, and are led by a large walrus with glowing blue eyes[1]. The name Snowmad is a portmanteau of snow and nomad.

The Snowmads set the events of the game in motion when their leader, using a giant white horn, summons a massive wind and an icy dragon. The dragon proceeds to blow the Kongs (Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, Cranky Kong, and Funky Kong) away from the island, allowing a Snowmad ship to station itself near the former location of the island's Volcano. The Snowmads then seize the island and throw it into a state of perpetual winter, forcing the Kongs to take their island back from the icy invaders.
