Snowmads are the main antagonists in the upcoming game Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. They consist of Viking-themed arctic animals, such as seals, walruses, and owls. They float the DK House out into the sea, and then take over DK Island by freezing it, which forces Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and Cranky Kong (and, to a lesser extent, Funky Kong) to try to get it back. The name Snowmad is a portmanteau of snow and nomad.
