Thugly is World 6's boss in in Donkey Kong Country Returns. It is presumably a relative of Mugly.

Thugly bears a striking resemblance to Mugly, however he has iron plates attached to his his back and is purple in color. He has beadier eyes and sharper horns by comparison as well. Donkey Kong and Diddy meet Thugly when they rocket up into a cave in the mountains. When they arrive they notice Thugly eating up their bananas. And suddenly, without warning, the Tiki Tak Tribe shows up, and a Tiki that bear the semblance of a xylophone putsd Thugly in a hypnotice trance to battle the Kongs. Thugly has several battle states. Thugly will sprint, curling up his iron plates with each skid. When his back plates remain open, the Kongs are compelled to jump on his back. In addition, in each state, he'll jump up and make boulders fall, thus soon succoming to dizzy spells, and falls on his back. The Kongs must thusly seize the opportunity to pounce on his stomach. After several hits hits, he will turn to orange. During this stage of the battle, he will be blast streams of flame, under which the Kongs must duck. After he is hit some more, he will transform into the color red, and he spit meteorites. After Thugly's defeat, DK will wallop the xylophone-Tiki, and move on with his adventure.
