The title of this article is official, but it comes from a non-English source. If an acceptable English source is found, then the article should be moved to its appropriate title.
A Katakata Yarihō is a pink Shy Guy that appears in Mario vs. Donkey Kong. It is usually sleeping on a platform. Whenever Mario jumps on the same platform, the Katakata Yarihō awakens and quickly runs toward Mario. However, if a Mini-Mario jumps onto the platform, the Katakata Yarihō will not be awoken. Whenever a Katakata Yarihō reaches the end of the platform they are on, they will sit down and fall back asleep. Katakata Yarihō constantly hold spears pointing upward whether they are asleep or awake, in the same manner as a Spear Guy; therefore, attempting to jump on top of the enemy will cause Mario to lose a life.
