Para-Goombas (alternatively Paragoombas[1]) are Galoombas with parachutes that first appear in Super Mario World. They descend slowly from the sky on parachutes, and once they land, they act like normal Goombas. A kind of Bob-omb known as Para-bombs also appear, which also use parachutes.

Para-Goombas also make a minor appearance in Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, where they are found at the end of the World-e level Rich with Ropes.

Para-Goombas make a reappearance in Super Mario Maker 2 after a long absence. They can only be made in the Super Mario World style by placing a parachute on a Galoomba. Their descending animation is changed to resemble the Galoombas' swimming animation from the first Super Mario Maker.
