Template:Kart-infobox The Gold Glider is an unlockable glider in Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart 8, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Mario Kart 7

In Mario Kart 7, it highly resembles the Super Glider, except that the Gold Glider has a golden color surrounding it. It can be unlocked by connecting with 100 people with StreetPass, or by collecting 10,000 coins. The Gold Glider does not offer any stat boosts and is therefore a purely aesthetic unlockable. It does, however, slightly increase the kart's gliding distance.

When the Gold Gilder is combined with the Gold Tires and Gold Standard body, they complete the whole Gold Standard. This kart gives great speed (the 2nd biggest boost in the game) and good weight, but has a bad acceleration and handling boost, and has the worst off-road in the game.

Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The Gold Glider returns as an unlockable glider in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Instead of being entirely gold, it is now black with a gold ring and a number eight on top. Like its predecessor, it is unlocked by collecting 10,000 coins, and it does not offer any stat boosts.

No CPU will ever use this body like the Gold Standard and the Gold Tires, thus it is player-exclusive.
