Template:Infobox New Super Luigi U is an upcoming expansion pack to the Wii U title New Super Mario Bros. U, celebrating The Year of Luigi. The title was announced during the Feburary 14, 2013, Nintendo Direct by Satoru Iwata and will be released on June 20, 2013, as a digital download, and August 25, 2013 as a standalone title.[1] Luigi, Yellow Toad, Blue Toad, and Nabbit are playable.[1] Features like Challenge Mode and Boost Rush are not available.

The title can be purchased by accessing the Wii U e-Shop via an Internet connection, and having a copy of New Super Mario Bros. U. Once downloaded, the player must press a certain button on the file select screen to play. It will also be available for purchase at retail at a later date.

Gameplay

The gameplay is largely similar to its base game, except that Luigi retains his higher jump and traction from Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. The game itself is also made harder, and every course starts at one-hundred seconds. Elements like Star Coins are retained.

World Map

The world map itself is unchanged from New Super Mario Bros. U, though it is unconfirmed if the level names, bosses, Enemy Courses or Toad Houses are changed.
