I feel obligated to point out that the flipping platforms from Super Mario Sunshine definitely aren't the same as the Red and Blue Platforms that appear in the Flip Swap Galaxy (and a few other galaxies). For one thing, the Super Mario Sunshine platforms rotate at their centers, i.e. - not like hinges on doors like these ones, and if I recall correctly, these platforms are actually orange and blue, not Red and Blue, plus, they have wood on their centers, and therefore appear not to be made of metal, and they rotate independently of the player's control, and they are like 2x thicker than in SMG2, and they move around randomly and bounce into each other while flipping instead of remaining stationary, and they don't all flip at the same time, they alternate flipping (also, the two colors are not physically connected, though I think that was mentioned in the article already)...the point is, they're really different...

You're right, I'd make a TPP for splitting them into, say, Red-Blue Flipping Platform (Super Mario Sunshine) and Red-Blue Flipping Platform (Super Mario Galaxy 2) Bop1996 _(Talk)

Well, currently, I'm fixing the article, so give me some time for that...I going to get rid of the Super Mario Sunshine information in the article, leave the remainder of the information (because there's really nothing wrong with it), and add a Trivia reference talking about the SMS platforms, so I'll see how it looks after that...

Flip-Swap/Reversible

It is written that the title come from an english source. If it was from the french source (it was written "reversible platform") it must be changed. The "dalle réversibles" are the blue one who become yellow then green when you walk on them. "dalle réversible" mean more or less "reversible platform" The real french name are "Dalles clic-clac" (it is the french name of the Flip-Swap Galaxy) and I think that the true name of these platforms are "Flip-Swap Platforms". I don't know why it has been changed.

Actually the official English name of the platforms according to the SM3DL guide are Red-Blue Panels, and you can also put "also known as Red-Blue Platforms or just flipping platforms", probably.

Our policy says that when there isn't any official English name, we should use any language official name. But the current name is english. I think it's a translation to the french name (at least, the previously-thought french name)

I don't think the Sunshine platforms belong here. They're a separate entity and don't react to player actions. I think these should be called "Alternating Platforms" or something similar, and deserve their own page now that Super Mario 3D World has reintroduced the Sunshine variety in "Super Galaxy". Well, that's why they're not in the main body of the page, relegated to a bullet-point in a Trivia section. I don't know what you mean by "Sunshine" variety. It seems that the Sunshine variety is autonomous while the one in 3D World is activated by merely jumping. That's already quite different. It's me, Mario! The platforms in "Super Galaxy" move independently of the player's actions, and rotate alternatively in the exact same way as they do in Sunshine. I wasn't referring to the platforms introduced in Galaxy. 8BrickMario (talk) 12:28, 26 November 2015 (EST)

Names in other languages

Instead of starting another edit war, I thought we could discuss this. I can't speak for the Spanish and Japanese names, but as for the French names, I know that the galaxy's name is "dalles clic-clac". This obviously refers to the red-blue panels, right? So do you think this name is conjectural (in which case it won't be included in the article) or confirmed/official?

The name is word-for-word from the galaxy. It's more than a reasonable assumption to associate the name with the panels, so I'd say it's a confirmed name. As for a translation, a clic-clac is actually a type of pull-out sofa bed, though a more appropriate translation would be to take them as onomatopoeias (clicking and clacking) and thus, "Click-clack tiles" (slabs is also a possible translation, but tile fits better). This is what I was thinking. As for the bad English translation, you'll have to check with my past self. His English isn't that great. Can anyone confirm the Spanish and Japanese names?

If this is accurate, we should add Japanese, Korean, Chinese, and French. Not sure where the Spanish name came from (I asked the user who added it). Any objections?
