Talk:Dimension

From the Super Mario Wiki, the Mario encyclopedia

Mario seemed lost to the fact of new dimensions, remember? But later, you see stuff from Mario's world. I found it odd how there were X-naut products, for example. Ah, well, that's fine.

Is there any value to this page? Like, really? --Glowsquid (talk) 08:39, 5 February 2014 (EST)

Just as how Mushroom Universe got deleted (see deletion log and talk page proposal), this page also needs to be deleted. This is fandom cruft that makes me surprised that this stuff still exists in the wiki. Besides, this article is related to Mushroom Universe anyway. Statements like these

  • The Mushroom Universe is the dimension that the Mario series typically revolves around. This dimension includes the Mushroom World and the galaxies explored in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2.
  • The Earth exists in a separate but parallel dimension of the Mushroom Universe. Interdimensional travel can be achieved through special Warp Pipes.

are ludicrous and are explored hardly in the games, so this article is substanceless dump for speculation. This page has little, if any, encyclopedic use because of these reasons (and probably others as well), so I propose deleting it.

Destroy it[edit]

  1. Mario (talk) There exists only three dimensions in the observable universe: height, length, and width.
  2. Yoshi876 (talk) Per proposal.
  3. Lord Grammaticus (talk) Per Mario's proposal, yet again.
  4. KP (talk) Per proposal.
  5. SuperYoshiBros (talk) A giant mess attempting to combine SMB, Galaxy, Super Mario RPG, Super Paper Mario, Brawl, Dark Moon, and... Wario Land. Yeah, we don't need this.

Leave it[edit]

Comments[edit]

This page, related to this article, probably needs some examining, although I'm not quite all-out in deleting that one. Icon showing how many lives Mario has left. From Super Mario 64 DS. It's me, Mario! (Talk / Stalk) 15:15, 10 February 2014 (EST)

The category seems helpful --

I know, that's why I think it should stay. If there any attempts to link dimensions together, though (Great Bay was categorized as a "dimension", for instance), please try to remove them. Are you all sure you want to delete this and All worlds? I'm pretty sure the term was used in-game and that dimensions are just as important as the planet article. We just need to rewrite some stuff that's all.--Ladies-Man1 (talk) 18:20, 10 February 2014 (EST)

Check the proposal and you'll likely have our answer, or at least mine. :U Also, this is literally the same as the Universe scenario - someone decided to take a barely-touched on-in-the-stories concept and pad it to hell and back, if you'll check the examples cited in this and other recent proposals.

Just because something was mentioned in a game or show once doesn't mean it should be a springboard for flooding an article with ham-fisted waffling attempts to string completely different continuities together, among other things. In short: Overly speculative articles like these have little place here. ExdeathIcon.png Lord G. matters. ExdeathIcon.png 18:29, 10 February 2014 (EST)
