Space Troopas are oxygen helmet-wearing Koopa Troopas who first appear as the soldiers of Moon Man Koopa in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode, "Stars in Their Eyes". Space Troopas have made several appearances in later titles not under their original name.

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show![edit]

At the start of the episode, Mario, while maneuvering his spaceship through a swarm of flaming meteors, mentions that he is being chased by King Koopa's Space Troopa minions; Mario evidently escaped these Space Troopas. They later appear as Moon Man Koopa's aides in the Quirk Factory.

Mario's Time Machine[edit]

A similar enemy appears on the moon in the NES version of Mario's Time Machine. They are identical to the Koopas found in other locations, but when knocked into their shells, the helmet covers the top of the shell instead.

Super Mario Odyssey[edit]

A purple Koopa Troopa wearing a space helmet appears in the Moon Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey, where it hosts the Trace-Walking minigame. If the player scores 80 points or higher, the Koopa awards the player with a Power Moon.
