Hi. I've been thinking and I think it's unnecessary to state what date we retrieved a reference. It doesn't really matter, right? All that matters is we have proof that something is so because we have a source to back it up. Retrieved dates just extend the number of bytes in an invalid way and it's not something a lot of people want to see. Do you think we should exclude retrieved references bytes? List of games organized by system

How did I do? Was I good? I hope I didn't cause any trouble. I added all the games, ports and systems I discovered by researching many websites. I hope my work was helpful. There might be more. Lord Falafel (talk) 21:32, May 28, 2019 (EDT)

Looks good, thanks! --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 22:24, May 28, 2019 (EDT)

Expansion

I think we should branch out. Why do we only cover Nintendo franchises? We have the super Mario wiki and the bulbapedia and others, but where are the sonic wiki, teenage mutant ninja turtles wiki, power rangers wiki and all the others? Why not have wikis of all franchises with obscure media? Think of all the franchises there are. Sure, there are lots of pages made by other people, but we need to be at the top. I have been studying obscure games since new year's eve 2015 and I have 3 notebooks with obscure games that need popularization. What do you think of my idea? Lord Falafel (talk) 23:46, June 10, 2019 (EDT)

I think it would be disingenuous for NIWA to expand just to "be on top" and if you're passionate about those things then you should create a wiki/network for them! --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 10:48, June 11, 2019 (EDT)

How do I do that? Lord Falafel (talk) 19:35, June 11, 2019 (EDT)

Purchase a domain, web hosting, and install MediaWiki. --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 02:17, June 12, 2019 (EDT)

Urgent matters

Do you know any members of the super Mario wiki who live in Japan and speak both Japanese and English and have 120,000 yen? Because an obscure Mario seesaw ride is on Yahoo Japan and it expires in 11 hours. It's called super Mario seesaw takeover. It costs 120,000 yen. We cannot let this obscure piece of Mario history go away. Please find someone really fast. Lord Falafel (talk) 22:10, June 19, 2019 (EDT)

I have the auction ID. It's Q165133918. Lord Falafel (talk) 22:14, June 19, 2019 (EDT)

Sorry I don't know anyone. --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 23:20, June 19, 2019 (EDT)

No matter. Alex95 found it and posted the link to our discord. It's called super Mario seesaw takeover and it was made by Banpresto who was known for making many Japan only arcade machines under the license of the original owners. They made games based on Mario, Ultraman, kamen rider, doraemon, pokémon, Thomas the tank engine and so many anpanman games that you could put the anpanman games alone all in a hotel. Lord Falafel (talk) 01:04, June 20, 2019 (EDT)

I can't login.

I can't login here. This is the user George Jones by the way. I am in Internet Explorer. It says that someone else is trying to hijack my account when it isn't true. Also I have problems with the Marioboards. I login, it says verification failed when I entered my username and password correctly. And it logs me in and logs me out when I try to post. Question is, should I use a different browser? 107.190.144.102 13:57, June 21, 2019 (EDT)

Oh, here's what it says when I try to login. "There seems to be a problem with your login session; this action has been canceled as a precaution against session hijacking. Please resubmit the form" 107.190.144.102 13:59, June 21, 2019 (EDT)

Try clearing your cookies or using a different browser. --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 14:01, June 21, 2019 (EDT)

I found a fix for the Marioboards problem. But it seems like after trying a different browser I forgot my password for here with no way to retrieve reset it or it. So I'll have to create a new account and ask an admin to block my old account when I create my new account. 107.190.144.102 14:12, June 21, 2019 (EDT)

If you tell me your email I can reset it Steve (talk) Get Firefox 14:19, June 21, 2019 (EDT)

Yeah I shouldn't of had created a new account. Should I PM you on the forums? 107.190.144.102 14:48, June 21, 2019 (EDT)

Yeah that works Steve (talk) Get Firefox 14:49, June 21, 2019 (EDT)

Another upgrade for the list of games organized by system

I recently thought there's a difference between released games and ports with no available release date information and games that didn't get released everywhere. And there are platforms in the other category that were released and have no available release date information whether they were released in one country or more and should be kept that way, until release date information pops up. But as for games that are released exclusively in 1, 2, 3 or 4 countries, the localizations that haven't been confirmed to exist shouldn't say N/A like released games with no available release date information do, they should say canceled. That is until localized release date information appears on the internet as well. And I had to tell you about this upgrade idea that I thought of bestowing upon the list of games organized by system, because making big upgrades like this without telling someone in a high position is a big no-no, according to the guidelines. And since you reply in a decent amount of time to someone and aren't one of those people in the world who are too busy in their lives to reply to anyone who sends them messages and since you're the founder of this wiki, I thought it'd be best to talk to you about this. Do you think we should do this move? And if not, that's ok. I just don't want this website to confuse the general public. Lord Falafel (talk) 16:44, June 23, 2019 (EDT)

It should say N/A if a game was not released in a given region. If we know that a game was released in a region but we don't know the date, I think it should say Unknown. I don't know why canceled games are on that list; if a game wasn't released at all I don't think it should be on List of games, I think it should be on List of unreleased media. --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 00:57, June 24, 2019 (EDT)

Unfortunately, Alex95 has been disagreeing with me on including the cancelled Mario party 2 port for the 64DD on the list of unreleased media. I think that is unjustified. Lord Falafel (talk) 01:02, June 24, 2019 (EDT)

Not so much the game itself, but the source was invalid, as it was citing wikia. If you can find a more proper source, it can be added back; but isn't it just Mario Party 2 and can go on its cut content page? Alex95sig1.pngAlex95sig2.png 01:08, June 24, 2019 (EDT)

Yes. Lord Falafel (talk) 01:25, June 24, 2019 (EDT)

Text replacement

Hi, would you mind replacing the following instances:

 • Stretch to Stretch
 • [[Stretch (Boo)| to [[Stretch|
 • Stretches to Stretches
 • Stretches to Stretches

Thanks! Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 13:30, July 2, 2019 (EDT)

I appreciate the copypasta, next time put the open-pipe one ([[Stretch (Boo)| to [[Stretch|) last and I can go right down the line! --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 15:39, July 2, 2019 (EDT)

Troublemaker

Hey, boss. There's an anonymous user editing HiT Entertainment as the developer for all the flash games on Nintendo arcade. All of them. Super paper Mario memory match, Dr Mario vitamin toss, Tetris DS puzzle mode, etc. His number is 99.0.105.95 and I reverted all those edits except 1, which Owen reverted. Lord Falafel (talk) 15:13, July 12, 2019 (EDT)

You don’t have to call him boss, but, ok. [-]€40 vv@(talk · edits)Hyperluigi.gif 15:15, July 12, 2019 (EDT)

Ip

We really need to make ALL Ip’s unable to edit, because we need to be able to use warning templates, either that, or what I said above ^^^ [-]€40 vv@(talk · edits)Hyperluigi.gif 15:19, July 13, 2019 (EDT)

Even if a lot of IPs are vandals, there are still quite a few that are legitimate contributors. It can be quite inconvenient to be forced to make an account for every single wiki you want to edit, especially if you only plan on making one or two edits. Blocking IPs could actually deter potentially good contributors from editing, and no one wants that. As for giving IPs warnings, unlike user accounts, IPs can be shared by multiple editors, or adopted by a different editor years later. It's also very easy to change your IP, so there isn't much point. Same reason we don't permaban anonymous users. -YFJ (talk · edits) 14:53, July 14, 2019 (EDT)

Colors

Do you think we should highlight games on the list of games in different colors based on what they are? Maybe even just a few colors? Like ports, remakes, reissues, etc.? Lord Falafel (talk) 21:48, July 14, 2019 (EDT)

Nah. Those aren't official designations and I don't think we need to add our own twist to it. --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 23:53, July 14, 2019 (EDT)

Potentially moving files

Greetings. I was wondering if you would be willing to use the text replace on two Mario Galaxy files for me. The two files are File:SmG.jpg (spookily is used on exactly 100 pages) and File:Thwomp2.PNG. Both I would argue are not specific enough names, the former uses funky capitalization, and the latter has an uppercase extension. You may be saying "now wait, you haven't moved them to a new name yet!" and you would be right. I wanted to confirm you would be willing to replace text before I actually move them in case you were like "no way". If you do want to assist, I am more than happy to move them to the new names whenever you have the time presented. Thanks a bundle. Trig - 21:34, July 16, 2019 (EDT)

Sure I can do it. --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 22:16, July 16, 2019 (EDT)
Thwomp2 moved to File:SMG Thwomp Alternate Render.png and SmG moved to File:Super Mario Galaxy NA Box Art.jpg. Thaaaaanks Trig - 22:44, July 16, 2019 (EDT)

Hello, I'm back again. This time, I would like to move File:Mushroom2.PNG to File:Mushroom.png if possible, so that the capitalization is consistent per policy, and it removes an unnecessary 2. I would try and move it all around, except the image is protected and I can't fix the template that uses it on 2000 images (at least) by myself either. Thank you very much.
The preceding unsigned comment was added by Trig Jegman (talk).

Thanks a bundle, Steve. Trig - 11:20, August 11, 2019 (EDT)

Part three revenge of the sith, I suppose. Could you please move [[:File:NSMB Green Koopa Troopa Artwork.png to File:NSMB Green Koopa Troopa Artwork? This will help distinguish it from the other similar file that I moved, and will be the most specific it can be. Thank you very much. Trig - 23:08, August 15, 2019 (EDT)

I really do hate being a bother, but could you please move File:Star.png to Star.png in accordance to capitalization policy? I don't think the talk page needs to stay as it isn't really applicable anymore. Trig - 14:44, August 17, 2019 (EDT)

Dr. Mario series stages

I'd like to clarify something about the policy that all level articles are to be created: does this include the individual stages in Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure and Dr. Mario World as well? The reason I ask is because Mario jc (talk) had the honors of bringing it up on my talk page, and I'm not exactly sure if what he's saying is correct. Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 12:21, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

JC is correct. --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 12:23, July 21, 2019 (EDT)
Then is it okay to create a proposal regarding this matter? Toadette icon CTTT.pngFont of Archivist Toadette's signature(T|C) 12:38, July 21, 2019 (EDT)
Sure --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 13:14, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

Suggestion

Do you think we should always capitalize the first word in our reason and specifics sections in our request boxes? Lord Falafel (talk) 19:57, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

What request boxes? Steve (talk) Get Firefox 21:20, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

Ones that begin with "it has been requested that" Lord Falafel (talk) 21:24, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

Yeah capitalize first word. Steve (talk) Get Firefox 21:33, July 21, 2019 (EDT)

Yet another text replacement

Hi, would you mind replacing the following:

 • Trampoline to Trampoline
 • Trampolines to Trampolines
 • Trampolines to Trampolines
 • [[Springboard| to [[Trampoline|

Question

Should unreleased games be on the list of games by genre? Lord Falafel (talk) 20:27, August 20, 2019 (EDT)

No. --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 20:34, August 20, 2019 (EDT)

Another question

Should we forbid commas before the word and? Lord Falafel (talk) 16:48, September 7, 2019 (EDT)

Nah. Do no comma if two things (he is cool and nice) and yes comma if three things (he is cool, nice, and epic). --Steve (talk) Get Firefox 16:51, September 7, 2019 (EDT)

Exclude

The "date retrieved" is there in case there are edits to the source later, or in case the source is taken down.
