Touchstones in Touchstone Trouble in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker

Touchstones (also referred to as Touch Screen Platforms^[1] and rainbow-colored blocks^[2]) are a type of moveable platform that appear in Super Mario 3D World, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, and Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. They can be touched with the Wii U GamePad, the button on a docked Nintendo Switch, or touch controls in handheld mode. This causes them to move to a set position until they are touched a second time, which makes them return back to their original state. In Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, they also revert after a short time has passed.

In Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, Touchstones are mainly purple and appear rarely, found only in Puffprod Peaks and Captain Toad Plays Peek-a-Boo. In Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Touchstones can be found in various colors and shapes and are more common, making their debut in the third level, Touchstone Trouble.
