- World 8 in New Super Mario Bros. (pictured) is the only world in the game that does not feature secret exits or unlockable levels.
- In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the Assist Trophy character, Alucard, cannot be spawned on the Wii Fit Studio stage, due to vampires not having a reflection.
- In Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Link from The Legend of Zelda series can be found sleeping in the Inn in Rose Town. When talked to, the "secret discovered" jingle from the series plays.
- King Boo and Petey Piranha can get any special item in Mario Kart: Double Dash!! except Luigi's green Fireball and Birdo's pink Birdo Egg.
