:I was just about to ask the same thing until I found this was posted almost two years before me. It seems like a stretch to call this the DK series, not just because they don't even have the same Japanese name, but because there's not even any evidence listed on the article that the two games ever were collectively called the "''DK'' series". And what conjectural name could you give this series of two games anyway? The "''King of Swing'' and ''Jungle Climber'' series"? The "Donkey Kong peg-climbing game series"? I would definitely be down for a proposal for deleting this page. [[User:DrippingYellow|DrippingYellow]] ([[User talk:DrippingYellow|talk]]) 18:09, January 20, 2024 (EST)

I wouldn't really call this a "series," it's more just two games, the second of which is a sequel. The "name" is contestable as well, it's just a convenient shorthand for "Donkey Kong" and the lang-of-origin titles aren't even close to each other (Burabura Donkey and Donkey Kong Jungle Climber). Not going to argue one way or the other since I don't know much about these games, but is your intention to apply this to any series with two games, or is this an outlier? --Waluigi's head icon in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Too Bad! Waluigi Time! 18:21, March 1, 2022 (EST)
I think in general, two games based around a fairly vague gimmick isn't really qualifying for a "series." The sports games like Mario Baseball seem actually valid as a series, but these just come off as off-kilter DKC spinoffs to me. Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 18:32, March 1, 2022 (EST)

I did some digging, and I have been unable to find any official Japanese sources that actually list Jungle Climber as a King of Swing sequel; KoS is seemingly not mentioned in the official Jungle Climber website (though the text is all images so I can't check in google translate or DeepL), nor any online press releases. What I did find, though, is a Japanese blog post where the author comments on how Nintendo is pushing Donkey Kong Jungle Climber as a "brand new game" while ignoring King of Swing, speculating that it might be an attempt to distance Jungle Climber from DK: King of Swing due to the latter's poor sales. If Nintendo never acknowledged the two being connected, then I think it would be safe to assume that this is not a series. DrippingYellow (talk) 20:52, January 22, 2024 (EST)
