Can someone '''please''' explain to me the alledged "comedy" of that description, and why it can't stay like that? Is it because "barrel" can refer to the long part of a gun or something? Holding a barrel in the darkness[edit]

Can someone please explain to me the alledged "comedy" of that description, and why it can't stay like that? Is it because "barrel" can refer to the long part of a gun or something? Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 19:49, 7 January 2018 (EST)

I think it's the unintended depth of the description, where "darkness" may allude to depression or helplessness, and the barrel represents a meager distraction from the grisly horrors of life. And this is ridiculous considering it's an image with a cartoon ape carrying a barrel. We may want to avoid situations like this because they are dank edgy maymay fuel. -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 20:10, 7 January 2018 (EST)
But why did it become a meme? It's no "That's MAMA Luigi to you Mario!" or "This is a volCAYno!" or anything like that.... Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 20:50, 7 January 2018 (EST)

From what I see, a recent Internet trend is to emphasise on the hardships of life by ironizing it in some way or another. Think of Hide the Pain Harold, the yellow smiley with sunglasses, or the song "Mad World". They've all become ironic jokes on how dark and gloomy and doomy life is. -- -- KOOPA CON CARNE 07:41, 8 January 2018 (EST)
