Template:Species-infobox Spray Fish[1] are purple fish in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Yoshi's Island DS and Yoshi's New Island. They appear in several fortresses and castles, and also appear in the Island Museum. They shoot out a diagonal jet of water that is impossible to go through. To get past it, the player must wait for them to submerge, or shoot an egg at their head. They themselves can hurt Yoshi, but the water merely pushes Yoshi back.

Spray Fish are most likely based off the real life archerfish, which spits water to make insects fall into the water to eat; in fact, their Japanese name is named after the archerfish. Hot Lips has an identical (though much more dangerous) attack pattern to the Spray Fish.

Wool-based Spray Fish appear in World 5 of Yoshi's Woolly World. They spray a line of string in place of water.
