Template:Species-infobox Cheesy Chesters[1] are enemies appearing in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. They are hunched rodents, just like suburban rats, sporting vermilion-colored fur, indigo skin (given the curled tail and the clawed feet, which are of this color), a big and sensible violet snout, big ears, and small, villain eyes. A distinct feature of them is that, unlike usual rats, they do not appear to have long front teeth, but instead some sharp fangs emerging from beneath the snout. Their habitat is Autumn Heights, where they can be mostly encountered in cheese-cave themed areas; the Kongs can explore such areas through the levels Crumble Cavern and Rodent Ruckus. Cheesy Chesters seem to replace other rodent enemies from the past Donkey Kong Country games, such as Neeks and Sneeks.

Their name is a possible reference to the Cheshire cheese, which is called "Chester" in German[2].

Cheesy Chesters are antropomorphic animals, as they are capable of walking on their back feet, swinging their front feet in a very human manner. However, when they see a Kong, their behavior will change drastically and will start acting like actual rats. Pointing their head and whole body overall in the direction they are currently facing and using all of their feet to walk is their primary method of attacking. The Cheesy Chesters' tails are only curled when they are in the attack position. A stomp on their backs will defeat them, as can rolling or charging into them with Rambi.

In Rodent Ruckus, the high intelligence of the Cheesy Chesters is yet again shown. Aside from their capability to walk bipedally, they are seen exploiting the mine and extracting the cheese from within the ores, using simple mechaninsms consisting of ropes and beams.
