Dragons are an extinct species that exclusively appear in Super Mario Bros. Wonder's sixth world, Deep Magma Bog, and its dedicated level in the Special World. Their fossils can be found in most of this world's levels and make for either flat or possibly rotating circular platforms that the player can stand on.

Fossilized dragons can be brought back to life via Wonder Effects which happens in Dragon Boneyard and Deep Magma Bog Special Solar Roller. The alive dragon flies in the air and through lava while occasionally looping on itself. In Dragon Boneyard, it serves as a platform that the player must ride on to traverse the level in a similar fashion to dragons from Yoshi's Story. Two flying dragons appear in Deep Magma Bog Special Solar Roller though no fossils can be found and act as temporary moving platforms for Spike-Ball Mario to roll on.
