A Deku Nut is an item from The Legend of Zelda series, that also appears as an item in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. When thrown at an opponent, it will stun the opponent for a few seconds. The effect is similar to a player breaking another player's shield (or their own). It is also possible for the thrower of the item to also be stunned during the explosion of the Deku Nut. If the Deku Nut is in mid-air during the explosion, players nearby will be blasted away, similar to Bob-ombs.
