Template:Infobox Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is an upcoming sports title for the Wii and Nintendo 3DS and the third installment of the Mario & Sonic series. New sports such as football and horse riding, along with other athletic events, will debut in the Wii version while 50 new and original sports are confirmed to appear in the 3DS version.[1] It has been confirmed that there will be 20 playable characters[2]. The game takes place in London, home of the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Like Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Dream Events will take place on areas from Mario and Sonic games. Only five have been confirmed.

20km Race Walk

Run: Move Stylus from left to right and back continuously.

Swim: Rotate Circle Pad clockwise.

100m Breastsroke

Swim: The player should breathe into the Nintendo 3DS microphone when the character's head pops up from the water.

  • This is the first Mario & Sonic game to feature the new Sonic voice actors, with the exception of Dr. Eggman, who kept his voice actor.
  • This title's box art will apparently be using a different color scheme than the traditional white coloring, using the color yellow instead.[15] It'll be the second Wii title in the Mario series to do this; New Super Mario Bros. Wii was the first, where its box art was colored red.
